On Wednesday, the Sheriff’s Office dive team held their monthly training at the Spiegel Grove wreck, offshore of Key Largo. They also held training in Marvin Adam’s Waterway, Key Largo. As part of training, FWC asked the team to help document old lobster traps in the waterway. The team located and documented three old traps. The team was assisted by FWC Officer Roy Bogue.
Detectives Ian Barnett and Bob Dosh used waverunners to assist in the training operation. The waverunners are donated to the Sheriff’s Office by Riva South Motorsports for law enforcement use. The waverunners were also used to patrol the canals of Port Largo, and made two vessel stops that day.
