A 29 year old man from Marathon was treated at Fishermen’s Hospital after a fight in a wooded area behind the Marathon Home Depot Tuesday evening. The investigation is still underway, but dispatchers received a report just before 11 p.m. that two men with dogs were having the dogs attack a third man. Shortly after that report, the victim called and said he needed medical attention. He was transported to Fishermen’s Hospital where he was treated for multiple lacerations, bruises and bite marks.
A third call was then received from a man – later identified as one of the suspects in the fight – who said he’d been stabbed. His injury turned out to be minor and he refused medical attention.
The victim told Deputy Rosary Ponce he got into an argument with the two suspects because one of them made improper comments to his wife. He said they hit him with glass bottles, and then kicked him when he fell to the ground. He said the two men sicced dogs on him as well.
The suspects have been identified in the case. Investigations into the incident are continuing and arrests may be pending in the case.
