Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit are investigating a stabbing incident that took place at the entrance to the La Siesta Resort in Islamorada at 6:15 a.m. today.
The victim indicated he and the suspect argued in a vehicle as they were on their way to work. The two men work construction together. The argument led to the stabbing, which took place outside the entrance to the resort. The victim asked for assistance from the manager of a construction company working at that location.
When deputies arrived, they found the victim and suspect still on the scene. The victim was airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center in Miami for treatment of a chest wound. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
