A 27-year-old Marathon man was arrested Tuesday for stealing more than $7,000 from his grandmother’s bank account over the course of several months.
Zachary Joseph Sims was charged with 22 counts of grand theft, 16 counts of larceny and six counts of theft.
The 74-year-old woman told Deputy Amanda Coleman on Feb. 12 that someone had tampered with her bank account. Further investigation showed 22 transactions had been made in Sims’ name between Sept. 21 and Feb. 5 in sums up to $500. The total amount taken was $7,201.51.
