The body of a man was recovered from the water behind the Blackfin Resort in Marathon Saturday.
A boat captain told Deputy Anthony O’Dea he arrived at his boat at 7 a.m. to get it ready for the day and spotted the man’s body in the water. The resort’s manager identified the man as a guest at the resort. He said he’d last seen him the day before and he said the man appeared to be intoxicated.
Detective Rosa DiGiovanni responded to investigate. There were no obvious signs of foul play evident on the body. An autopsy will be done to determine the cause of his death. Detective DiGiovanni is currently attempting to notify his next of kin about his death.
