A was not seriously hurt when he was accidentally shot in the leg by a .22-caliber rifle on Friday.
The incident occurred about 3:30 p.m. at Sunshine Key RV Resort & Marina on Big Pine Key.

The incident occurred while the victim and several other men were loading items from a golf cart onto a truck. The rifle was damaged. It was missing its stock, which leaves the trigger exposed. The firearm was wrapped in a towel.
All the stories provided by the witnesses were consistent in that the incident appeared to be accidental. No criminal charges were filed. The injuries to the victim were non-life threatening.
