A 27-year-old Key West man arrested Monday on firearm and drug charges.
Jesus Barreto was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition by convicted felon, possession of pills without a prescription, possession of marijuana and violation of probation.
Barreto was wanted for violating the terms of his probation stemming from a burglary case. The Sheriff’s Office received information on Monday that Barreto sleeping in a trailer at Roy’s Trailer Park on Stock Island.
Deputies Alexandra Davis, Jonathan Lane and Det. David Fernandez arrested Barreto there without incident. A loaded pistol was recovered as well as two pills and some marijuana. Thirty, separate baggies containing a white, rocky substance that tested positive for amphetamine were also recovered.
Barreto was taken to jail.
