A binder has been turned in to the Sheriff’s Office containing death, marriage and birth certificates for a family dating back to the 1850s.
The binder was found at the corner of Sands Road and Bailey Street on Big Pine Key where the Seahorse RV Park was prior to Hurricane Irma.
Lower Keys Deputy Seth Hopp placed the binder in the property room at the Cudjoe Key Substation, 20950 Overseas Highway.
Deputy Hopp added there is also news articles related to the family in the binder.
“I’m sure there is someone, somewhere, missing it dearly as it looks irreplaceable,” Deputy Hopp said.
One page of the binder states: “The family of Fred Schaeffer Boyer Sr. and Lillian Mae Fernandes.”
