The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff Rick Ramsay accepted bicycles Tuesday as part on an annual donation effort for Wesley House Family Services.
The bicycles are collected by the Sheriff’s Office. The Leadership Monroe County organization also helps organize the collection. Both groups work together to collect the donated bicycles for the Wesley House. The bikes will go to families in need this holiday season.
So far this year, more than 50 new bicycles in all sizes and colors have been collected.
Sheriff Rick Ramsay was present when the truck arrived Tuesday and helped unload another dozen bicycles.
“This cause has been very successful over the years,” Sheriff Rick Ramsay said. “It is a testament to the committed folks in this community who believe that we can only be successful we all come together to effect positive change. It’s an honor and a blessing to help each year with this effort.”
