Stock Island – Deputies and detectives investigating a reported burglary on Miriam Street Friday arrested two people on drug charges.
Deputies Freddy Rodriguez and Lazaro Valdes responded to a home on Miriam Street. The owner had returned home to find someone had forced open a sliding glass door and had stolen four guns from inside, along with other items including jewelry, a laptop computer, and a plastic pitcher full of coins.
Detective David Cruz responded to assist. He saw a surveillance camera across the street. The owner allowed the detective to view footage for the time the victim was gone. In the video, the detective saw a person walk from the trailer next door to the victim’s residence, into the victim’s driveway and then under the residence toward the door that was forced open.
Detectives and deputies knocked on the door of the trailer next door to the victim. A woman and a man were inside. The woman signed a consent to search form, allowing the officers to look inside her residence for the stolen property.
Inside, detectives located some of the items stolen from next door. They also found powdered cocaine, Xanax, heroin, crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
47 year old John McNamee and 35 year old Michelle Moser were both arrested. Both denied being involved in the burglary. McNamee was charged with possession of cocaine, heroin and drug paraphernalia. Moser was charged with possession of cocaine, a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. They were both booked into jail.
