The body of a diver who was reported missing has been found offshore of Marathon.
The 65 year old man was last seen by family members Saturday, when he left to go fishing and diving. His niece called the Sheriff’s Office this morning (Monday) at 11 a.m. to report him missing. She said he was possibly diving at the north end of the Seven Mile Bridge.
A search was conducted by the Sheriff’s Office, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Coast Guard. His body was recovered just before 2 p.m. floating about 100 yards from the Seven Mile Marina in Marathon.
No further information is currently available. Detectives are still working on the case.
