The man wanted on a $1.5 million bond for trafficking in fraudulent credit cards was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon as he waited for a flight to Russia.
Detective Dave Chavka received information Tuesday that 41 year old Alex Bogomolny had purchased plane tickets to travel to Russia. At that point, Bogomolny had already flown out of Key West to New York, but had reportedly missed his connecting flight to Russia and was waiting in the John F. Kennedy airport for another flight. Detective Chavka solicited the help of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. ICE agents found Bogomolny at the JFK airport and took him into custody.
Bogomolny will be returned to Monroe County to face his charges.
