A Key Largo man was arrested Wednesday night after he threatened a neighbor with a gun. The gun was later determined to be a pellet gun resembling a real handgun.

The two men live in a residence on Point Pleasant Drive in Key Largo which shares one water line. 34 year old  Todd Alexander was using the water line for laundry when his neighbor got home from work just after 10 p.m. and wanted to use the water for a shower. According to Deputy Vaughn O’Keefe the water line must be detached from the washer in order to be used for a shower and Alexander did not want the water detached from the washer.

According to the victim, the two men exchanged heated words. He said Alexander then went into his residence and got what looked to him like a gun. He said Alexander pointed the gun at him. At that point, the victim said he fled into his residence and called 911.

When deputies arrived, Alexander gave them permission to search his home. They found the pellet gun in a kitchen cabinet. It matched the description of the gun the victim said was pointed at him.

Alexander was arrested. He fought with deputies as he was being escorted to a patrol car for transport to jail. He was charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
