Deputies and FHP troopers responded to the 57.6 mile marker on Grassy Key to an accident with injuries at 11:30 p.m. A sport utility vehicle rolled over after having been struck by another vehicle. There were six people inside the SUV; initial reports from dispatchers say they were three children and three adults. One small child was seriously injured and was airlifted by Trauma Star to Miami Children’s Hospital. Two other people were taken to Fishermen’s Hospital for treatment of relatively minor injuries. The roadway was obstructed until about 3 a.m. Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the case.
