A 58-year-old homeless man was arrested Tuesday night for providing the Sheriff’s Office with a false identification after deputies received a tip from Crime Stoppers.
Chris Steven Fink was subsequently charged for that crime as well as failure to register as a sex offender.
Detective Danielle Malone and Deputy Denise Dery went to the Keys Overnight Temporary Shelter (KOTS) on Stock Island with a warrant for Chris Fink. The Sheriff’s Office received a Crime Stoppers tip that Chris Fink had been staying at KOTS under the name Jaymes Fink.
Detective Malone and Deputy Dery found Chris Fink at that location about 9 p.m. He stated his name was Jaymes Fink and provided a Florida divers license stating the same. Detective Malone and Deputy Dery compared Chris Fink’s tattoos with others on file from the state of Montana. Chris Fink was previously convicted of sexual assault in that state. The suspect was identified as Chris Fink via the tattoos.
Chris Fink was taken to jail.
