The Sheriff’s Office will be assisting this weekend with the Wounded Warrior Project’s “Soldier Ride” this Friday. The community is encouraged to come outside and cheer the riders on as they pass.
On Friday, starting around 8:30 a.m., riders will travel from the Veterans of Foreign Wars hall in Key Largo to the Tiki Bar at the Postcard Inn in Islamorada. There will be a “cheer stop” at Coral Shores High School and the ride should finish at the Tiki bar at about 10:30 a.m.
The second part of Friday’s ride will take place from the Marathon Fire Station over the Seven Mile Bridge. Participants should start their ride from the fire station at 12:15, riding over the bridge and ending at about 1:15 p.m.
Participants will end the day Friday in the city of Key West. They will spend the day Saturday in Key West at a number of different events. On Sunday, they will ride within the city limits of Key West ending with a ride which winds up at Mallory Square with a closing ceremony at about 2:30 p.m.
