Big Coppitt Key – A Big Coppitt Key woman was arrested Saturday afternoon for threatening a neighbor with a gun.
When Deputy Wendy Negron arrived at the Shore Drive home just after 4 p.m., the male victim told her he’d just been threatened with a gun by the woman who lives upstairs.
Deputy Negron went upstairs and knocked on the door. 40 year old Shana Brady answered and told the deputy her gun was in her bedroom. A semi automatic handgun, loaded with the safety disengaged, was recovered from the bedroom.
She said her downstairs tenant’s dog was barking and scratching at her door. She said she got her gun and went downstairs with the dog. She said she knocked on the door downstairs and the tenant opened it. She said he started to threaten her so she pulled out her gun and pointed it at him.
Brady was arrested. She was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and she was booked into jail.
